As part of the Nordic project The First 1000 Days in the Nordic Countries, we will organize three workshops in the autumn of 2025. Workshops offer a unique opportunity to explore the implementation of evidence-based methods in different national contexts.

Workshop Objectives and Content

Nordic workshops aim to strengthen the effectiveness and consistency of perinatal services across the Nordic countries. The goal is to build a shared framework by identifying the factors that influence the systematic and effective implementation of these methods in the Nordic region.

Workshop Structure

  • Each session begins with a joint keynote lecture in English, during which an expert presents current perspectives and research findings.
  • The lecture is followed by small group discussions in participants’ native languages, enabling in-depth exploration of the themes and exchange of experiences.
  • The sessions conclude with a joint summary in English, highlighting key insights.

Nordic workshops are intended for developers, experts, and decision-makers in perinatal services from all Nordic countries. They support networking and the development of a shared understanding and are part of a broader effort to enhance the well-being of children and families during the earliest years of life.

Join us in building a more impactful and equitable start to life in the Nordics!

The Nordic First 1 000 Days of a Child Network enhances understanding of the importance of pregnancy and the first two years of life for human health, and promotes the use of effective methods to support the mental health of parents and children. In 2025, Finland will hold the chair of the network under the leadership of Itla.
