Intervention Portal
Are you looking for a suitable intervention for strengthening the mental health of children, adolescents or families, or preventing mental health problems or treating them at an early stage? Do you need research-based information to support your decision-making? Our Intervention Portal brings together our evaluations of the effectiveness of psychosocial interventions, meaning their benefits for children, adolescents and families!

What? The Portal compiles our evaluations of the effectiveness of psychosocial interventions aimed at children, young people and families. The evaluations are based on the assessment of the reliability of the studies and especially the impact studies carried out on the interventions.

Why? The evaluations help in making research-based decisions about the use of the different interventions. They also encourage the development of the interventions and research into their effectiveness.

How? So far, the Intervention Portal has interventions evaluated on two different scales. Effectiveness has been evaluated on a scale of 1–5 since 2022, and before that on a scale of 0–3.

How the evaluation scales are combined?
  • Effective intervention, meaning it can be considered effective based on research (classifications 3/3, 4/5 and 5/5).
  • Promising intervention, meaning it’s effectiveness is promising based on research, but more high-quality research is needed (classifications 1/3, 2/3 and 3/5).
  • Described and theoretically justified intervention, meaning there is no research data on it’s effectiveness (classifications 0/3, 1/5 and 2/5).
